Angel Baby

Is it just me or does LL look like an actual angel when he's sleeping?

He *rarely* sleeps on his back so I had to capture it. He loves to sleep up against his bumpers, as you can see. How he got himself in that position (he was in the center of his crib, on his stomach, when he originally fell asleep) is a mystery. We might have a future gymnast on our hands! Notice in photo 3 that his crib is HUGE (well, the average crib size) and yet Adam only takes up a few inches in the corner. We could fit triplets in that crib! :)

In other news... ADAM IS OFFICIALLY "A WALKER" NOW!!!

LL walks EVERYWHERE now and only crawls when he's really tired. He's fast, too!

Fun at Frying Pan Farm Park

It was a beautiful Saturday so we decided to go on a little adventure. We took Adam to Frying Pan Park... a beautiful county park with lots of barns full of animals. Adam loved it... he took it all in and smiled at the animals. Afterwards, I told him he we saw some cows and he went "MMM" (as in "moo"!)

Next, we went to Barnes & Noble (our favorite store) and let Adam walk around the children's section. He LOVED the train table (especially eating the little trains... sigh) but it was so endearing to watch him walking around the table. He found a little girl (2 years old) to play with and pointed, smiled and talked to her. It was precious... except when the little girl got scared (of little love?!?) and cried. All in all, It was a really fun family day.

Bonus photo of Adam walking included! He is walking more and more... almost running at times! As you can see, he LOVES to walk and finds himself to be very funny and clever when doing so! What a cutie (or as his shirt says, "Naturally Adorable"!) :)

First Fever :o(

I totally jinxed myself and poor Lil Love. All weekend I carried on saying that Adam has gone through his first year of life without a fever (besides a 99 degree one after an immunization -- doesn't really count). Even when his eight teeth came in, he stayed, thankfully, fever free. Well, that all changed tonight. He got tired much earlier than usual (see photo below with Steven). We were all excited to have the evening to ourselves to watch our "Grey's Anatomy: Season 1, Disc 2" DVD (we decided to start watching the show - from the beginning, of course. It's pretty good). Anyway, just as I was finishing writing some thank-you notes (for the wonderful b-day gifts), LL woke up crying (unusual these days). I let him cry a bit but then he started to wimper (it was so sad). When I picked him up he was HOT. We took his temp and it was 102!!! My poor baby. His face was all flushed and he sat on my lap in and out of sleep (babbling when he was awake) while I spoke to the Dr (well, nurse practitioner) on call. After we took her advice and gave him tylenol, he woke up a bit. And started smiling, babbling and walking! I'm telling you, nothing slows down this kid (thank goodness). We put him back to bed with ducky and doggy, of course, and he fell right back asleep. I just now felt his head and it went warm-ish, but not hot, Thank G-d. The nurse said to check on him/give him Tylenol every 4 hours if he's still hot. She said it's either an ear infection (since he had a runny nose today) or his molars are coming in (since he was heavily drooling today). Lets hope for the latter.

In happier news, LL is continuing to walk about 20% of the time. Crawling and cruising are still his main modes of transportation but walking is coming in at a close 3rd. See photos of him walking... he was starting to fall in the last shot (where he looks like a gymnast). He falls "well", always on his tush, and it doesn't seem to faze him. Oh, please ignore the papers on the floor... you might recall that paper shredding is one of Adam's favorite activities. We give him our Sunday paper to have fun with every Monday. He loves it.

Anyway, hopefully Adam will be all smiles tomorrow with no fever. If he does have a fever in the AM, off to the Doc we go (I HATE going to the Dr and our fave Doc, Dr. F, is off tomorrow), to make sure it's not an ear infection. I'll keep everyone posted -- pun intended. :)

Halfway across the room!!!

Adam has been taking steps for a few weeks now... more and more each day. Tonight, he walked halfway across the room!!! It was while we were watching the DVD of his first year... how ironic. He's so proud of himself.

We had such a fun day. Aunt Samantha/Uncle Jeff, Jake, Evan and Zach arrived around 2 and Adam had a ball playing with them. Bobbe and Zayde came soon after. It is so wonderful having the whole crew together. We celebrated Zayde's birthday (late) tonight with an ice-cream cake and special present (a photo of five generations of the Helman men).

Tomorrow is THE BIG DAY!!! Our Little Love will be ONE!!! Unbelievable. I'm still working on "The Story of Adam (birth -- 10 months) and hope to have it up in the next week or so.

We're celebrating Adam's birthday at Grandma's tomorrow night and his "Barnyard Bash" party is on Saturday. Good times ahead... we are so thankful and blessed. Not only to have each other and LL, of course, but to have such amazing families to celebrate with. :)

P.S. Photo one is of Zach and Evan feeding Adam his yogurt. They did an AWESOME job!
P.S.S. Second photo is of Zayde with all of his grandsons. Adam wasn't feeling too photogenic, you may notice.
